Stanton Annual Writing Competition 2019

Stanton University is pleased to announce the first annual Essay Contest. The deadline for the essay will be on Friday, November 22, 2019. Please take the time to read the guidelines below.

Essay Themes

 Students may choose only one theme to write:

  1. Envision where you see yourself in five years after graduating from Stanton University? What kind of positive impact you like to make in your community?
  2. According to you, what makes a great leader? Support it with examples from your personal experience and books. Also, how you can apply that at Stanton University?

Student can only submit one essay.


  • Two First Place Prizes, $50.00 each
  • Two Honorable Mentions, $25.00 each are awarded.

The participant must be a current SU student at the time of submission.

The submitted essay must follow the requirements:

  1. It must be your original work.
  2. You cannot use your previous work for submission.
  3. Your essay will need a cover sheet with the following:
    ♦ The title of the essay
    ♦ Your name
    ♦ Your program (e.g. BBA, MBA, PGM, KCA)
    ♦ Your email
  4. The essay needs to abide to the following guidelines:
    ♦ Between 1,000 and 1,500 words
    ♦ One-inch margins on all sides
    ♦ 12-point font, Times New Roman

If you do not meet the following guidelines, your essay will be disqualified from the contest.

By submitting your essay, you give Stanton University the permission to send it to and to publish your essay on our website.

Remember, the deadline is Friday, November 22, 2019.


  • You will need to submit both digital and printed copies of your essay.
  • Failure to submit a digital and printed copies by the deadline will result in being disqualified from the contest.

      • Please print three copies of your essay, stapled.
      • Please submit it to SU Library with attention to Mr. Daniel Kim.

      • Please save your essay in one of the following file formats: .doc, .docx, or .pdf file.
