Oriental medicine views a person’s health in terms of the entire life being rather than in terms of limited symptoms, their immediate origins, and their various manifestations. Diagnosis and treatment focus on the well-being of the entire person, the mind and body, not simply on the presence of physical complaints and symptoms.

Our clinic provides the following services: Acupuncture, Moxibustion, and Oriental Herbal prescriptions.

Acupuncture is defined as the stimulation of a certain point or points on or near the surface of the body by the insertion of needles to prevent or modify the perception of pain or to normalize physiological functions — including pain control — for the treatment of certain diseases or dysfunctions of the body.

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small, spongy herb, to facilitate healing. Moxibustion has been used throughout Asia for thousands of years; in fact, the actual Chinese character for acupuncture, translated literally, means “acupuncture-moxibustion.” The purpose of moxibustion, as with most forms of traditional Chinese medicine, is to strengthen the blood, stimulate the flow of qi, and maintain general health.

Oriental Herbal prescriptions involve the prescription of various herbs and other organic materials as nutritional supplements according to traditional Chinese medical theory.
